She also went on to explain that as a print, quite a few are in existence so it won’t be “limited edition.”
When asked how the poster came to be in her possession, the art specialist was surprised to hear of the guest’s “close family connection” to the German Artist.
The guest revealed: “This is an Opera poster from Stuttgart, where my grandmother and grandfather lived and became friends with Gunther Uecker.”
She added: “And my grandfather at the time was actually director of the Stuttgart Opera, and brought Gunther Uecker on to become a stage designer there, and then also designed the posters for the productions.”
