Chief whip
Rumours from within SW1 have suggested for some time that current chief whip Mark Spencer is on his way out.
Today’s reshuffle will likely include a potential replacement for Mr Spencer, who is also the MP for Sherwood.
Mr Swinford tipped him to replace Mr Mogg as Leader of the House of Commons, with two other MPs waiting to take on his role.
Potential candidates include Nigel Adams, Chris Heaton Harris, and Chris Pincher.
Mr Adams is a high-profile supporter of Mr Johnson’s who currently serves as a minister “Without portfolio”.
