Charlotte Dujardin now stands alone most decorated British female Olympian of all time after clinching bronze in the individual dressage on Wednesday. The 36-year-old won the fifth Olympic medal of her career on Tuesday in the team event.
But all eyes were on Dujardin for the individual event as to whether she could add to her incredibly medal tally.
She was up against a strong German team and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl had set an almost unbeatable mark of 91.732 on TSF Dalera BB.
Isabell Werth had then put Germany in the gold and silver positions with a score of 89.657.
Dujardin followed next as the second-to-last rider on Gio with Cathrine Dufour’s score of 87.507 the benchmark to secure at least a bronze.
