Who doesn’t love a freebie, especially when it’s a free pint of beer or ice cold gin and tonic at your local boozer? As part of National Pub Fortnight, which runs until this Sunday (22 August), customers can claim a free drink at their local, but you’ll need to hurry as there are only a few days left. It’s a buy-one-get-one-free-offer, so why not invite a friend to join you for a drink? It’s a great excuse to raise a glass to the easing of lockdown restrictions allowing people to now meet up for a pint at their favourite local.
No matter where you live in the UK, you should be able to find a participating pub near you.
Around 1,500 pubs are taking part in every region of the country (excluding Scotland and Northern Ireland) including sports bars, those hosting live music and venues with beer gardens that are also pet-friendly.
You can take your pick from a wide selection of drinks, including Guinness and Stella Artois.
Or the free drink offer includes Gordon’s gin and mixers and non-alcoholic beverages if you prefer something lighter.

The offer runs until this Sunday, August 22 so you’ll have to be quick to claim your freebie.
Set up to support suicide prevention charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), the buy-one-get-one-free offer is designed to encourage people to invite friends and family out for a chat and a drink.
And although lockdown restrictions have eased in the UK, publicans’ profits were still down six percent on previous years in July, according to latest figures from CGA Business Tracker.
It’s hoped that this new initiative, thought up by Stonegate Pub Partners, will help boost takings as well as supporting CALM and raise money in support of the charity’s work.
Nick Light, managing director of Stonegate Pub Partners, said: “We are delighted to be running our free drinks campaign again.
“But this time, we want to focus on the importance of the social aspect of the pub.
“For the last 18 months, our social contact has been restricted, leaving some people with feelings of loneliness.
“That’s why we’re running this year’s National Pub Fortnight in support of CALM’s helpline services, and encouraging our customers to reach out to friends and family members for a drink.
“Our customers have always been fantastic in supporting their local pubs and this is our way of giving something back to them.”
The initiative has been made possible thanks to Stonegate Group partnering with Budweiser, Diageo, Heineken, Molson Coors, Carlsberg, and Coca Cola.
No doubt, the freebie will be snapped up, so don’t forget to download the voucher on your phone before you pop to the pub.
Customers can check out their nearest participating pub via the Great British Pubs website.
