Desperate to grow a long, thick mane? There are all sorts of tablets, gummies, drinks and hair products on the market that promise to help you achieve longer hair, but they can be costly and not very effective. Luckily for you, ONE cheap and natural oil could do the job. Here’s how.
Bad hair days can ruin your mood and self-confidence, and if you’ve accidentally chopped off too much hair, there’s very little you can do to help it grow back quickly.

You can’t speed up the hair growth cycle or change how your hair grows, so evidence for the success of many hair growth products is slight.
However, some studies suggest that castor oil could help to increase hair growth for a number of reasons.
Firstly, it could increase the blood flow around the scalp when combined with a head massage or ayurvedic massage.
On top of that, the luxuriously thick oil contains ricinoleic acid and omega-6 fatty acids which can moisturise and condition your hair.
This makes your hair look shiny and healthy, but might not necessarily help with growth.
If you’re worried about dramatic hair loss, you should see a doctor to figure out the cause.
Sometimes hair loss is temporary and caused by things like illness, stress, cancer treatment, weight loss or iron deficiency, but it could be permanent if you have something like male or female pattern baldness.
If you have sudden hair loss, develop bald patches, are losing hair in clumps, your head itches and burns, or you’re worried about your hair loss, the NHS recommends you see your GP.
If your hair loss is caused by a medical condition, you may be able to take finasteride, minoxidil or another treatment to help.
