Japan on high alert after being rocked by second earthquake within 72 hours

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 hit Japan today, on Friday, shortly before midnight local time. The CGTN news agency said in a post on Twitter: “M5.5 earthquake struck Japan on Friday at 11.25pm local time at a depth of 20 kilometers (12.4 miles), the Japan Meteorological Agency has reported.”

This took place at around 2.25pm GMT.
