Jonnie Irwin left 'heartbroken' over thought of wife remarrying amid terminal cancer news

Date:

“It’s because of you… that we had 14 fantastic years in Spain. Watched Place in the Sun constantly so we decided to go for it!!” one fan, @milly.rodgers.90 enthused.

The previous week, Jasmine had posted photos of the pair together while commending his bravery for sharing his story.

Describing him as her “original partner in crime”, she added: “As ever a true inspiration & always positive and up for a laugh no matter what the circumstances.”

The official A Place in the Sun account also responded to his Instagram message, writing: “We don’t have the words, we just have love, affection and respect for our friend and colleague of so many years, the wonderful Jonnie Irwin. We’re thinking of you, Jess and the boys x.”

Meanwhile, A Place in the Sun’s production company have since responded to Jonnie’s claims that he was axed after revealing his cancer diagnosis.

“Jonnie has been a hugely important part of the A Place in The Sun family for over 18 years and all of us were deeply saddened by his diagnosis,” their statement read.

” Much loved by everyone on the production, no stone was left unturned in trying to enable Jonnie to continue his international filming with us during Covid but the production company were unable to secure adequate insurance cover for him.

“Whilst we were unable to continue to film abroad with him, we’re delighted that he was able to remain as part of our team in the UK for exhibitions. We of course understand how frustrating this must be for him at this incredibly difficult time.”
