The new Netflix documentary exploring the story of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has shown never seen before footage of the Sussex children, Archie and Lilibet Diana. Both Archie, age three, and Lilibet, age one, have had short cameos in part one of the Netflix series, which aired last Thursday, December 8, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared new footage of their family life. However, royal fans of the Sussexes spotted that Lilibet was wearing a familiar accessory that they have seen once before with Archie.
In one home video shown on Netflix, Meghan Markle can be seen feeding the family’s chickens in their back garden in California.
A baby Lilibet is strapped to her mother’s chest in a baby carrier, while also wearing an adorable grey pom-pom beanie.
Some royal fans have recognised that the beanie once belonged to Archie, who was seen in it when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were still working royals and posting to their official royal social media accounts.
In one Instagram post on the now abandoned Sussex Royal account, Prince Harry is seen smiling in a picture taken n New Year’s Eve in 2019 and holding an eight-month-old Archie, who is wearing the pom-pom beanie.
The cosy-looking beanie was made by Make Give Live, a New Zealand crafting enterprise which brings local communities together to make mittens and beanies.
Archie’s $45 dollar (£23.48) pom-pom beanie was bought as part of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wish to help a good cause.
The organisation revealed that in 2020, the Duke and Duchess got in contact with them to “order 100 beanies to donate to Archie’s Kiwi friends (children in need in NZ)” before Christmas time.
The company has a “buy one, give one” policy, so 200 of the warm-looking beanies were given to families in need.
On Instagram, the company wrote: “[Prince Harry and Meghan] said that they wanted to help our members continue to enjoy making, connecting and supporting each other which has never been as important as now.”
