Lindsay Hoyle slams Sunak as he orders 'when I stand, you sit down'

The Speaker gave the Prime Minister a telling-off after Rishi Sunak remained standing after Sir Lindsay got to his feet during a tense meeting of the Prime Minister’s Questions in Parliament.

The dressing down from the speaker came as Mr Sunak and Opposition leader Sir Keir Starmer clashed over the economy and rail strikes.

Sir Lindsay told the Prime Minister: “When I stand, you sit down.”

He went on to remind Mr Sunak of an early promise to keep his answers to Sir Keir short as the Speaker looked to keep PMQs on time.
