Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain transfer decision made easy by two players

“He can play different positions, there’s absolutely no doubt about it,” Klopp told

“But in the pre-season we wanted to see him just in a deeper role because for a young player you have to learn a lot of things when you are a bit more outside and you get the ball from time to time.”

While his pre-season appearances have mainly been from the substitutes’ bench, Jones is another who has made the decision to move Oxlade-Chamberlain on easier.

Jones was one of the stars of Liverpool’s disappointing campaign last year and could be handed a bigger role with Georginio Wijnaldum having departed.

With Jones and Elliott impressing, allowing Oxlade-Chamberlain to leave will not be as much of a miss as some would normally expect.
