London fire: Huge blaze ravages ground floor shop as 60 firefighters battle inferno


Eight fire engines and roughly 60 firefighters have been called to a fire at a shop on Burwood Place in Edgware Road, London.

Part of a shop on the ground floor of a parade of shops and offices is on fire, London Fire Brigade said in a statement. 

Fire crews were called shortly after 11am on Wednesday, June 29.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.

Fire crews from Paddington, Euston, Soho and Kensington fire stations are at the scene.

Members of the public are being advised to avoid the area at present.
