The first episodes of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s upcoming Netflix series will begin telling the story of their romance and relationship. The Times has reported that they will also feature allegations that members of the royal household leaked and planted stories against the Sussexes in the media.
In the Netflix trailer promoting the documentary, Prince Harry in a voiceover says: “There’s a hierarchy of the [Royal] Family, you know there’s leaking but there’s also planting of stories.”
The documentary series overall will be six episodes, with three episodes set to be released on Thursday, December 8 and the next three will be released next Thursday, December 15.
The first episode will delve into the Sussexes’ relationship, with the next two episodes becoming more controversial.
Episodes two and three will include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s feelings about not being supported by the Royal Family or Buckingham Palace.
In the trailer, Meghan says at one point: “I realised, ‘They’re never going to protect you.’ ”
The second part of the documentary series will cover the Sussexes’ decision to step down as working members of the Royal Family as well as their decision to move to Califonia in the United States.
In March 2021, both Harry and Meghan covered some of this topic in their television interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The Duchess of Sussex alleged at the time that she found life within the Royal Family so difficult she “didn’t want to be alive anymore”.
When asked by Oprah if she had thought of self-harm or suicidal thought, Meghan replied: “Yes. This was very, very clear. Very clear and very scary. I didn’t know who to turn to in that.”

In the interview with Oprah also asked the Duchess why the Royal Family did not make the Sussexes’ son, Archie, a Prince, which Meghan said she wanted so that he could get police protection.
In 1917, King George V declared that great-grandchildren of the monarch could no longer have a royal title unless they were in direct line to become monarch someday.
In 2012, Queen Elizabeth issued a patent letter which declared all of Prince William’s children would to given royal titles, which is why Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte had their titles.
Now that King Charles is monarch, it is currently unknown if Prince Harry and Meghan’s children will be given titles, as Meghan claimed in the Oprah interview that “they want to change the convention for Archie” so that he would not become a Prince.

The upcoming ‘Harry and Meghan’ documentary seems will also cover the allegations of racism in the second half of the series, but it is currently unknown if the Sussexes will name who allegedly commented on their child’s skin colour.
In the Netflix trailer, the Sussexes lawyer says: “There was a war against Meghan to suit over people’s agendas.”
A friend of the couple in the trailer then says: “It’s about hatred, it’s about race”.
