Mel C would snub offer to perform at Qatar World Cup amid backlash over pal David Beckham

“Sure, I had my hair cut short, I had tattoos, I was muscular, so therefore that means I’m gay?”

The star, who, until recently, had been in a relationship with music producer Joe Marshall, added that homosexuality was a “brilliant thing”, even if it isn’t who she is personally.

Meanwhile, the controversy over Qatar continues, with football fans also raising worries about the country’s treatment of women and transsexuals, and its strict morality codes which include harsh punishments – up to the death penalty – for extramarital sex.
