This is the heart-warming moment locals rescued a struggling cat after it got stuck in a second-floor apartment window while its owners were out at work. 

The scared pet struggled to get back inside its second floor home for more than an hour in the Russian city Krasnodar.

Local resident Marina Grinko praised the ‘heroes’ who rescued the pet, who included Sergei, her husband.

‘A cat got stuck,’ she posted.

‘He was meowing for an hour. The emergency service refused to come. Scaffolding was brought from a nearby construction site.

‘The cat was pushed back [into the flat].’
