Djokovic attributed the false declaration to an innocent mistake on behalf of his agent, but his misdemeanour is likely to form a strong part of ther Government’s case.

If he is perceived to have given false information in order to obtain his visa, he could potentially face a jail sentence.

Should he be deported, Djokovic could also reportedly face a three year ban from re-entering the story.
