P&O recruiting scores of high-paid jobs despite poverty plea when sacking 800 – EXPOSED

Among 27 roles being officially advertised on the company’s website was a ‘Solutions Architect’ working from home for the firms IT department with a salary of between £70,000 to £90,000. Working from home as an ‘Infastructure and Cloud Architect’ comes with a salary of between £65,000 and £75,000 – the same salary as a Data and Information Architect.

Advertising the roles the company describes P&O Ferries as “one of the best-loved brands within the UK” and boasts they are considered a “Superbrand” which has been “an integral part of British maritime history for almost two centuries.”

It adds: “Our people are our most important asset and we are building a world-class team from all over Europe and the world to help us thrive in the new normal. We have the backing of DP World with all of their tools and support alongside the freedom for you to be the best you can be.”

Despite having made 800 staff instantly redundant the shameless company adds: “We are all about connecting the world and that starts with finding connections with who you work with.

“When we recruit we want to you to bring your whole self to work and we are working towards increasing diversity across all of our employees. We know we cannot be the best unless we recruit the best regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, lifestyle, age, educational background, national origin, religion or neurodiversity.”

One furious worker said: “While those doing the hard graft out at sea have been laid off it seems the corporate-side of the business is happy to keep on dishing out huge salaries to those who never have to leave their spare bedroom. Calling people their most ‘important asset’ is sickening.”
