The UK Government will update Britons on the latest travel traffic light lists tomorrow, August 5. Ministers will remind and inform the public which countries will be on the green, amber, and red lists in its next travel review.

Therefore, fully vaccinated travellers will be able to keep visiting Spain quarantine free.

If you have received two doses of the coronavirus vaccine you are able to travel to and from the country without having to self-isolate for 10 days.

However, if travelling to and from a red list country, holidaymakers must quarantine on their return to the UK.

It is also expected that the Government will confirm the removal of the 10-day quarantine for fully vaccinated travellers from France.

The country was put on the “amber-plus” list last month amid concerns about the Beta variant.

The “amber-plus” list meant that even double vaccinated Britons had to self-isolate for 10 days on return to the UK from France.

There were fears about the spread of the Beta variant in both France and Spain, but now only 0.4 percent of cases in France are attributed to the strain and 0.5 percent of cases in Spain.

This is down from June, when the Beta variant accounted for nine percent of the Covid cases in Spain as a whole, including its islands.

There were talks in the Government about placing Spain on the amber watchlist, meaning it could soon turn red.

But this idea was abandoned after Cabinet ministers and Tory MPs warned the Prime Minister it could greatly impact summer holiday bookings.

Spain remains to be one of the most popular tourist destinations for Britons.

Around 18.1 million visits were made to the country from the UK in 2019.

Other changes to the travel traffic light system tomorrow include the addition of up to 10 countries to the green list.

These nations are expected to be Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, and Poland, among others.
