Tiger Woods confirms plan to play The Open 2022 with teasing comment on comeback

Tiger Woods has indicated that his main goal for next year as he begins to slowly make his comeback from the horrific car crash back in February will be to compete at The Open 2022.

“To ramp up for a few events a year,” Wood said. “There’s no reason why I can’t do it.

“Mr Hogan did it. I just gotta get to a point where I feel comfortable I can do it.”

“It’s flattering that people think that highly of my game.

He added: “I have a long way to go in the rehab process. I enjoy the challenge.”

“Maybe one day it will be good enough to compete against the best players in the world again.”

And Woods went on to make it clear what his big plan for next year will be with The Open being held at the prestigious St Andrews course.

“I would love to play at St Andrews. There’s no doubt about it. My favourite golf course in the world.”
