Tottenham transfer mistake highlighted in Champions League – 'He has no weakness'

Yet another transfer mistake committed by Tottenham in the summer window has been highlighted in the latest round of Champions League fixtures. Spurs signed five players heading into the season, but it has failed to help the club turn around their awful form from the Jose Mourinho era.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s reign started with three successive 1-0 wins, which ensure they were the early pacesetters in the Premier League.

But since the international break, things have gone desperately wrong for Nuno’s men, who find themselves below fierce rivals Arsenal.

The latest low point of their campaign came on Sunday, when they fell to defeat to the Gunners, having been three goals down after 35 minutes.

Spurs have scored just a single goal in their last three league outings, a consolation goal from Son Heung-Min at the Emirates.

Harry Kane is still yet to score in the top-flight, and the Champions League has shown they missed out on a player who could have made up for his downturn in form.

Nkunku continued his hot streak in front of goal five minutes into Club Brugge’s visit to Leipzig in their second game of the competition.

Emil Forsberg did well to feed onto a through-ball down the left, before squaring it to Nkunku, who shot low and found the net despite Brugge goalkeeper Simon Mignolet getting something on it.

Though Leipzig went onto to lose to the Belgian side, Nkunku impressed, having three shots, as well as creating a chance.

He has certainly impressed Leipzig head coach Jesse Marsch, who replaced Julian Nagelsmann in the dugout over the summer.
